What to expect:
Rally Point 2021 is an annual gathering arranged in conjunction with the U.S. Army’s Soldier For Life program. The Veterans Transition Success Coalition prepares transitioning military service members and their families to fully connect with civilian life, local community resources, and navigate earned benefits.
RP 2021 is for veterans and service members who are transitioning or have transitioned out of military service. Many of us hosting this event are military veterans or work with veteran-support groups in the area.
This year, the Christus Foundation is hosting our event for us to regroup with family, military and veteran community for forge ahead in life… but with good food, good people, jobs, medical support, cornhole tournaments, and bounce houses (of course, for the kids!) and craft booths.
Come meet local veteran community groups like the USO, VFW, American Legion, Lions International, American GI Forum, and the Greater Houston Veterans Rotary Club. All of these groups will host booths to interface with everyone.
Gain insight on employment and veteran-related claims and benefits through talks with the Harris County Veteran Services Department, the VA - Houston, Christus Foundation, the American GI Forum.
We will have sessions on transitioning to civilian life that include:
Employment
Veteran real estate/loan programs
Financial Literacy
Healthcare resources/plans

8:00-8:30 am - Welcome-Opening Remarks
8:30-8:45 am - Overview of Transition
Begin Breakout Sessions (Employment, Homebuying/Loans, Financial Literacy, Health/Wellness) *All four topics will be offered during all 4 sessions, so they may be attended in any order
9:00-9:40 am - Session 1
9:45-10:25 am - Session 2
10:30-11:10 am - Session 3
11:15 - 12:00 pm - Session 4
12:00-12:45 pm - Lunch/Q&A
12:00-3:00 pm - Enjoy the music & festivities
