Veterans Day and Harris County Discounts

Let us know if there is anything we can do for you, or if there is anything that you would need. Meanwhile we’ve put together a list of restaurants and establishments who are doing something special for veterans, so that you can get a good meal!


Axelrad: The Midtown beer garden bar at 1517 Alabama offers veterans 20 percent off all orders every day, and welcomes veterans especially on Nov. 11; open 2 p.m. to midnight.

Applebee's: Veterans and active-duty service members can receive a complimentary full-size entrée from an exclusive dine-in menu on Thursday. The restaurant is also offering $5 off any menu item ordered for dine-in, to-go or delivery within three weeks.

Bombshells Restaurant & Bar: All 10 Texas locations will offer free meals for veterans on Nov. 11 (active-service members and any accompanying family members will receive 20 percent discount). Veterans and active-service members of any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces will be asked to present military ID.

Brennan’s of Houston: The iconic Texas Creole restaurant is offering a 30 percent discount on meals (excluding alcohol) to active and former service members on Nov. 11. Show valid military ID for discount. 

California Pizza Kitchen: The restaurant chain is offering a complimentary entree and beverage to veterans and active U.S. military members on Thursday. They can also receive a buy-one-get-one-free card redeemable through Sunday, Nov. 20.

Chili's: Veterans and military members who dine-in can receive a free meal from a select menu on Thursday.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit: Multiple locations in Houston is offering a free pulled pork sandwich to veterans on Nov. 11. Veterans can redeem the offer in stores for carryout and online for pickup (code VETFREE). Additionally, from Nov. 11 to Dec. 31 Dickey’s will take 15 percent off orders for veterans when they use the code VETERAN15.

Denny's: The diner-style restaurant chain is offering a complimentary Build Your Own Grand Slam to all active and inactive military members on Thursday.
Dunkin': Veterans and service members can receive a complimentary doughnut of their choice on Thursday at participating restaurants.

Dish Society: All locations (five in Houston, one in Katy) offers a 20 percent discount every day to military veterans and active service members. Show military ID to receive discount.

Feges BBQ: Veterans eat free on Nov. 11 at the Houston barbecue restaurant (3 Greenway Plaza and 8217 Long Point), co-owned by Army veteran Patrick Feges. All military service members and veterans will enjoy a free meal; mention service at checkout. Additionally, veterans receive a 10 percent discount daily at both locations.

Fish City Grill: Restaurants at 11200 Broadway in Pearland and 15980 City Walk in Sugar Land Town Square in Sugar Land will offer veterans and active-duty military a free entrée (up to $20.99) on Nov. 11; available for dine-in and to-go orders. 

Fogo de Chao: The Brazilian steakhouse is offering all veterans and active-duty personnel 50 percent off entire meal on Nov. 11 at all locations, including 8250 Westheimer. Up to three guests of each veteran or active-duty guest will receive 10 percent off meals. Valid military ID required; not including to-go orders or alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and dessert. 

Great Clips: Veterans and active-duty service members can get a free haircut or receive a voucher for a free cut redeemable through Friday, Dec. 10.

Hard Rock Café: All North American Hard Rock Cafes are offering free steak burgers to active and retired service members on Thursday.

Hooters: Veterans and active-duty service members will receive a free meal at participating Hooters locations on Nov. 11 with the purchase of a beverage. The free entrée from the Hooters Veterans Day Menu includes a buffalo chicken sandwich, buffalo chicken salad, grilled chicken sandwich, burger, or 10-piece boneless wings.

Krispy Kreme: All veterans can receive a free small coffee and doughnut of choice at participating locations Thursday.

Little Caesars: The pizza chain is offering a free HOT-N-READY lunch combo, which includes four slices of pizza and a 20-ounce Pepsi product, to all veterans and active-duty service members from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.

Willie’s Grill & Icehouse: Multiple locations throughout the Houston area will honor veterans and active military on Nov. 11 by inviting them to try new sandwiches for free. Chose from new Texas Patty Melt or Cajun Fire Chicken Sandwich, both served with fries. Offer for current and former military (show ID) for in-store dining. 

The Original Ninfa’s: Both the Original on Navigation, 2704 Navigation, and Ninfa’s Uptown, 1700 Post Oak, will salute veterans and active-duty military with free chili con queso on Nov. 11. Tell your server of your service to get free queso.

Scooter’s Coffee: The drive-through specialty coffee brand, 3023 Barker Cypress and 2401 Main in Pearland, is offering veterans a free drink of any size on Nov. 11. Veterans can present their military ID to enjoy a hot, iced or blended drink of their choice. 

Starbucks: Veterans, service members and military spouses will be served a free tall hot brewed coffee on Thursday at participating stores.

Red Lobster: Veterans and military members who dine-in can choose a free appetizer or dessert from a special menu on Thursday.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill: Free Mom’s Ricotta Meatballs and Spaghetti entrée is free to veterans on Nov. 11 at all locations including 1155 Lake Woodlands Dr., Spring. Veterans and active military present military ID or other proof of service for dine-in or carry-out (not valid on delivery).

Molina’s Cantina: The classic Tex-Mex restaurant’s three locations (7901 Westheimer, 3801 Bellaire, and 6300 FM 1463 in Fulshear) will offer a 50 percent discount (excluding alcohol) for all service members on Nov. 11 for dine-in only. Show valid military ID for discount.

National Parks: Anyone, veteran or not, can visit National Park Service sites for free on Thursday.

Phat Eatery: The Malaysian street food restaurant in Katy is offering a 30 percent discount (excluding alcohol) for all veterans and service members all day on Nov. 11 for dine-in and take-away orders. Show military ID to receive discount; 23119 Colonial Pkwy. In Katy Asian Town.

New York Eatery: The new restaurant at 5422 Bellaire will offer 30 percent off purchases all day on Nov. 11 for veterans and active military with ID. The offer excludes alcohol; open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.The Original Esther’s Cajun Café & Soulfood: The restaurant at 5204 Yale offers 15 percent off all purchases by veterans all day on Nov. 11; open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

La Grange: The restaurant and bar at 2517 Ralph in Montrose is offering free chicharrones for all veterans on Nov. 11; open 4 to 10 p.m.

Tobiuo Sushi & Bar: The Katy sushi restaurant offers 25 percent discount (excluding alcohol) for veterans on Nov. 11 for dine-in. Show valid military ID to receive discount; 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.

Walgreens: Veterans, military members and their families will receive 20% off eligible items at Walgreens and Duane Reade drugstores nationwide Thursday through Sunday.

Wendy's: Those who have served or are currently serving in the military can receive a free breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at participating locations.

White Castle: All veterans and military members can receive a free combo meal on Thursday.

Yelo: The banh mi sandwich shop in Katy is offering a 30 percent discount for dine-in or take-away orders on Nov. 11. Show military ID to receive discount; 23119 Colonial Pkwy., Katy Asian Town.
